Ashley Polverelli: (Church Planting - Recovery House of Worship)
Ashley was appointed by Missions Door for campus ministry in January 2006. As she working working on campuses, students would come to her to talk about their desire to be free from addiction to drugs and alcohol... and a focused ministry began.
Because of the way God used her, Ashley was invited in August 2008 to join a team in New York City that starts churches for those very people - people in recovery, their family and friends. God has opened the door wide! The Lord has etched into her sole a deep calling to focus on people with debilitating addictions, their family and friends.
She now carries The Mesage to people on the streets, at retreats and other venues. God is meeting the immediate needs of people through the team by providing The Message, food, shelter, referrals for rehab and counselling, men and women's homes and other resources. She and the team also take special care to reach, serve, train and send them out to carry out His Message. Part of Ashley's story includes not only carrying out His Message but also the message of 12 step anonymous programs due to her personal involvement in such a program. Jim and Ann-Elise Grosser
For 24 years, Jim and Ann-Elise Grosser ministered at Charlton Baptist Church in Charlton, Mass. In July of 2003, they were given the opportunity to minister for two weeks in a small, struggling mission church in Carrickmacross, Ireland. Two years later they were invited to serve that congregation as pastoral staff. Over a period of seven years they saw God (1) help the church heal from hurts caused by a previous pastor,(2) establish the church as a legal entity with a Constitution and By-Laws, (3) procure a church building and (4) call an Irish pastor, paid for largely by the local congregation. They praise God for completing their work in Carrickmacross. They have since returned home to the USA where they have been involved at WORLDVENTURE to help equip, mentor and deploy new generations of church leaders and cross-cultural missionaries in New England and around the world.
